Consulting, in plain words
Forward-deployed engineering is a fancy term for a simple idea: we work alongside your existing team, learn how the work actually happens, then help you get more done through custom software, automation, and modern AI. Your people stay in charge; we bring extra hands and an outside perspective.
What we can build with you
Custom Apps & Integrations
Focused internal apps, scripts, and integrations your team doesn't have the bandwidth to build — scoped tight, documented well, and handed over cleanly so your developers can own them.
Practical AI Adoption
AI assistants, agents, and document or data workflows that are safe, useful, and measurable. We start small, prove the value, then grow what works.
Workflow & Systems Design
Mapping how work actually flows through your business, then setting up or fixing the platforms that run it — tools like ClickUp, Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or your CRM, chosen to fit rather than impress.
AI & Automation Advisory
A second opinion for your tech team: where AI and automation actually pay off, which tools fit (e.g. coding assistants, or workflow tools like Zapier or n8n), and how to roll them out with sensible guardrails for security, testing, and review.
How it works
Embed
We spend time with your team — shadowing, asking questions, and learning how the work really gets done (and what your developers already have on their plates) before suggesting anything.
Diagnose
Together we pick the few problems worth solving: the ones burning the most hours or causing the most mistakes, ranked by payoff.
Build
We design and build the tool, automation, or workflow — alongside your team where that helps — in short cycles you can see and react to, not a months-long black box.
Hand-off
You get working software, clear documentation, and a walkthrough for your team, so they can run and extend it confidently without us.
Common questions
Do we need our own tech team?
Not strictly, but it's where we do our best work. We're set up to work alongside your existing developers, IT, or ops people — adding capacity for a specific app or advising on AI and automation — rather than becoming your entire tech department.
What does a first engagement look like?
We start with a conversation about what's slowing you down, then a short embedding period where we observe the work and meet your team. From there you get a clear proposal: what we'd build or recommend, what it costs, and what it saves.
Do you work remotely or on-site?
Both, depending on the job. Discovery and embedding often benefit from being in the room; building and check-ins work well remotely. We figure out the mix together.
Who owns what you build?
You do. Code, documentation, and accounts are yours from day one, and your team gets what it needs to maintain them — no lock-in, no hostage situations.
Can you work with the tools we already have?
Usually, yes. If you're already running on platforms like Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, or a CRM, we'll make them work harder before suggesting anything new — and we follow your team's existing stack and conventions.
Have a problem worth solving?
Tell us a little about your team and what's slowing you down. Technical detail welcome, never required.
